Hello, it's me, your pet peeve.

Rewind 10 years ago, some one asked me what my pet peeve was. After saying pardon for what seemed like the 77th time, i offered up the only solution i could come up  with at the time, i let out a nervous, high pitched, laughter, crossed my fingers and  toes  and hoped for the best. Thankfully, i now know what a pet peeve is.  But, if you are like me of approximately 10 years ago and you don't know what a pet peeve is, let me  do the honourable  google thing by giving you a brief definition. A pet peeve is something you find ridiculously annoying, something that gets on the nerves of your very last nerve, something that winds every fibre of your being up, and finally, something that makes you want to punch an imaginary annoying person in the F$%cking face. If you haven't guessed  the subject of my blog for today, you may be in for a mildish surprise. Today, folks, i'll be  writing about a  certain pet peeve of mine. Here goes. You know when you decide to take a Facebook

Don't say hello, it's not you I am looking for.

We can all agree that consistency is a vital ingredient for success. Even being a jerk requires a BA in persistence and a high level of consistency. Hence, there are no semi-jerks, only jerks.  No part time douchbags, only full time ones. I am not sure ,where I am going with this but please bear with me while I gather my thoughts. Right, where was I? Ohhh yes, I am right here where I left me.  If you are a resident of the wonderful island of great Britain and also a parent,  you'd be 6 weeks into your back to school jamboree/celebrations/festivities .  Yes, it's probably time to pack away the gin and tonic and return to whatever it is you do while your kids are busy chewing their pencils at school. Ooor maybe not, because allo allo, next week is half term. Did somebody say, how time flies? I must say, the first week of the back to school saga wasn't nearly as dreadfully exciting as I thought it would be. Sadly, no one asked me about what I got up to during

Back to school for absolute beginners.

Yeap,  yeap, yeap it is that time of the year again, brace your self for the how was your holiday slash what did you do for your holiday questions.  To be honest, I'd rather talk about the weather than rumage through my brain searching for all the fun, wonderful, exciting and money draining activities I got up to during the freaking holidays. Which by the way was a lot. To be completely honest, which I clearly wasn't in my previous paragraph, i'd rather not talk about the weather and just skip right to wishing everyone a merry christmas. Yeap, you heard me right, merry Christmas to all you kind and unkind folks out there. Don't you dare say I never do any thing nice for y'all... Do I sound like a grumpy old goat? Well, maybe I am and maybe I am. The thing is, I find the how was your holiday questions extremely boriiiiiing.  If you want to tell me all about the wonderfull and exciting things you and your amaaaaaaaazballs family got up to during your holidays

Racism and sexism: a match made in hell...

Funny  or not funny enough, #racism and #sexism are opposite sides of the same coin. They are both systematic tools for oppression, manipulation and control of certain groups of people by other groups of people. They both confer a variety of privileges on certain groups of individuals at the expense of another group. They both impact and  transfer significant socio cultural, political and economic power from one group of individuals to another group of individuals.... Apart from stealing from people socio-culturally, Politically and economically,  racism and sexism also rob it's victims of their self worth, self esteem, self confidence and awareness because surprise or not so surprise, that is exactly what they are designed to do.  To put It ever so nicely, sexism and racism are the the oposite of the gift that keeps on giving wonderful and nice,  jolly things... Finally,  people who benefit from either sexism or racism or both are generally either unwilling to admit this blata

Laws of attraction: take control.

Jolly good tidings to everyone where ever you are and whatever you are doing. It's great to be here again. I haven't got a whole heap to say, just a few words of my thoughts as I prepare to go to sleep-its about 10mins past my bed time and counting. So, I've been thinking a lot about the law's of attraction and how the people we attract are a manifestation of our conscious or subconscious projections of our selves. In a nutshell, we attract what we project. It sounds like one of those tired clichés, yet it is profound as it is deep, even a tad bit unsettling. Before I talk about the profound part I will like to settle the unsettling bit first if all. If the people we attract is down to how we project ourselves, that means all the times I found my self in unhealthy and unproductive relationships, it was largely due to my own conscious and subconscious projection of myself. Does this mean I was responsible for my own misery and abuse? To a very large extent, yes. How

Expressions of Eslaviva: new and improved blog.

Top of the morning, evening, afternoon, or whatever time of the day it is where you are. welcome to my new improved blog: Expressions of Eslaviva.  I've been off for a very long time (hugee understatement) but i am back, hopefully older, wiser, stronger, funnier and more dedicated to my writing slash blogging... I have taken the liberty/initiative to delete my previous blogs- something about it being my prerogative. I felt i needed to do so in order to start afresh. I also felt like too much time had passed for me to continue from where i stopped abruptly.  lets just say this is the introduction  of a new old book. Welcome, welcome, welcome, i am very excited to be here once again. I certainly feel like i have matured significantly in the time that i have been away. i look very much forward to sharing the experiences of the new old me or the old new me with all of you. Many many thanks to everyone for tuning in.
